Description: This four week course is for people who have some drawing experience and want to expand their skills in ink techniques. We will focus on nib pen, brush, and quill skills, studying line control and shading styles. We will complete several drawings including still lives, copying from photographs or illustrations and if weather permits, a landscape. We will cut our own quills out of feathers and experiment with the line quality these give us. We will spend some class time experimenting with color, but mostly we will be working in shades of black and grey. At the end of this four week course, each student will have completed one or more fully developed ink drawings, and have a strong understanding of ink mediums.
